Montana, Idaho, and Washington States are all directly South of Calgary.

Calgary is a five hour drive north of Great Falls.

Just to correct a couple of other respondents, Idaho and Washington state are to the southwest of Calgary and are further than Montana, whether or not you measure directly (as the crow flies) or by roads (meandering through the rocky mountains, these two states are more than 10 hours by road from Calgary, vs. 5 from Montana.

Washington State and Idaho are NOT directly south of Calgary or Alberta.  Montana's northern bountry extends from Eastern British Columbia along the length of Alberta and extends as far as mid-way across Saskatchewan.

Montana, in fact there is highway all the way from Calgary to the Coutts border crossing (Sweetgrass on the American side).
