  1. Focus more on the state and less on the university itself. You're going to get the same education and experience from all of them, but the states they are in vary hugely. Research on each states geography (particularly their weather) and make your personal decisions on that to help narrow down the list.

  2. Alrighty, first of all I'd have to mention that i'm really surprised an international student would even contemplate going to a university in Texas, north/south Carolina, Wisconsin and even Virgina. Not that i'm ragging on those states AT ALL but usually international students flock to the more popular states I mean. I think it's a breath of fresh air to see someone think outside the box :)

But in my opinion looking at that list, I'd say....one of the University of California schools. Maybe Santa Barbara if you want to be reminded of Australia or Los Angeles if you want a more metropolitan thing going on. New York is AMAZING, NYC is one of the best cities ever so a school in NY would be great as well. You get a lot of internship opportunities and living in NYC period, as an international student would be a great experience.

  3. Thank you for answering my question. I currently live in California so I can give you a lot of information on the Universities of California (aka the UC schools). There are many different ones. The 2 most prestigious are University of California-Berkeley (aka Berkeley or UCB) and University of California-Los Angeles (aka UCLA). Third best is University of California-San Diego (aka UCSD). Then University of California-Davis (aka UCD), University of California-Irvine (aka UCI), University of California-Santa Barbara (aka UCSB) are about the same ranking. Finally the "worst" University of California-Santa Cruz (aka UCSC), University of California-Riverside (aka UCR), and University of California-Merced (It has a low ranking because it is new).

I would DEFINITELY recommend Berkeley or UCLA. UCD smells like cows, UCI is FULL of Asians if that's what you like then cool, and the rest are meh but still good schools.

EDIT: UCSB is known as a party school, but actually does really good on tests and such, you just got to be careful not to be caught up partying all the time.

I hope you find the right school!

    California ROCKS!!!

  4. California State University

    Washington University

    University of California
