My wife and I plan on traveling from Australia to the United States, but we want to go to a city that does not have much "local color" if you get my drift. I was told to avoid Atlanta and New York, and Miami. Any recommendations, my only requirements are there be at least a good zoo, museum, low crime rate, and a proper pub.

  1. so your looking for a place that does not have alot of black people? You could try mississippi. Why what's wrong with people of color?

  2. i don't get your drift, what do you mean by local color. if you are looking for a primary specific race or color you will not find that here in the us. every city has a good mix of people. if you let that stop you from seeing things here then i feel sorry for you.

  3. If you are coming to America and looking for a city without the presence of people of color it won't happen. There are small towns that are totally without diversity but any city will have at least a small percentage. Here is a list of some:

      1. Boulder, Colorado

      2. Fargo, North Dakota

      3. Lincoln, Nebraska

      4. Berkeley, California

      5. Topeka, Kansas

      6. Irvine, California

      7. Bloomington, Illinois

      8. Harrison, Arkansas

      9. Dyersburg, Tennessee

    10. Amarillo, Texas

  4. You are better off staying home. Racists really aren't welcome in the US.

You may want to try Canada, it may fit more your style.

  5. New Orleans and Detroit ;)
