Both great amps.  If we're comparing them at a 2 ohm impedance, you'll be hard pressed to notice any difference.  It's only if you were to run say a 4 ohm impedance that you might notice a bit of a difference, since the rated RMS power of the Kicker ZX amp is halved.

I still like them both.  Well made, plenty of power and both quality units.

your gonna get a lot of different answers personally I think jl audio is way over priced and I love the kicker quailty... besides who holds the majority of spl records

Jl audio will smoke the Kicker amp...Also,kicker won the contest with the car plugged into the wall,that is not car audio,let me use my home system and see who wins..what do you do?drive around dragging a extension cord?

its a toss up

the Kicker will push out more RMS wattage than the JL but its not as regulated (sometimes it puts out MORE RMS wattage than advertised)

the JL will have a little better sound quality (but its for subs, and if you are looking for sound quality that's what your inside speakers are for, so its VERY over priced)

if you put a Kicker setup (amps and subs) next to a comparable JL setup, the Kicker will blow it out of the water-- no doubt about it

so if you are looking to set off car alarms (and slowly but surely tear the car apart) get the Kicker, if you have cash to blow and actually think that you can tell the difference in bass sound quality get the JL
