  1. Hello.  If I were you I would set the bar higher.  If you have already committed yourself to either starting school or going back to school then get your gen eds out of the way with an associates degree in Arts.  Then, transfer to a four year school and get a bachelors degree in something you have interest in, i.e., business, education, psychology.  A paralegal will leave you in the same position forever and you need a Masters in Human Services, i.e., psychology to make any real money.

  2. The salaries will vary greatly for each of these jobs, depending on where you work and who you work for-there is no way to give you definite numbers. Both will require experience in the fields, regardless of the degree, so you can expect to come out of school and be in entry-level jobs.

I am starting school next week for a paralegal certification. I have my BA and a very high GPA. This is a very very good job-I have done lots of research. Once you get the experience, you have different options of where to work, as you would in human services. BUT...human services is more general and employers do not want that-they want a specific skill. Therefore, I would choose the paralegal option. I would only choose human services if you plan on getting your BA and then possibly a Masters. Many of these jobs tend to be low-paying until you achieve the advanced degrees. You really have to decide what you want to do by exploring the fields and seeing what opportunities are in your area.

  3. Paralegal, due to better job opportunities.  Human Services tend to be more non-profit kind of jobs./
