  1. Getting a work&travel visa like Quextor suggested might be the easiest option for for the time being. Getting a spouse visa is a lenghty process (I've done it) and they require a lot of proof that you're relationship is real. Proof of living together (rental agreements) and heaps more. So you would need another visa to bridge over the time you will need to collect all the evidence..

P.S. I had just turned 19 when I met my partner, nobody gave us a chance. That was 7 years ago   ;-)

Wish you guys all the best !

  2. More info please.  We need to know what kind of citizenships you have, at the very least.

    Okay, then.  Try here:

http://www.visabureau.com/australia/work... - You can live and work in Australia for 1 year.  If 3 months of that one year is spent doing agricultural work (picking fruit, or etc) then you can get it extended for a second year.

If you can afford it, you can try to get yourself accepted to an Australian university.  You can apply for a work permit, once your studies have started.

If your girlfriend can support you (without you working) then you can get a visa based on the two of you living together.  You'll need to convince the authorities you two have a committed relationship, and you won't be able to claim any benefits from the government.
