... do you think Most never reached his potential for one reason or another??

I think probably the Worst case of a Top player who never was able to live up to his potential was John Greening, who played for Collingwood, during the early 1970's:

He only had a chance to play about 3 seasons with the club, and finally, when he was about 21 he was starting to play absolute TOP football when he was King hit behind play about half way through the season.

So bad was the incident that John didn't properly recover consciousness for some weeks!!! ... but affected for good from it.

To give you just SOME conception of how well he'd been playing to that point, when the the Brownlow Medal votes were counted that year, John Greening's votes tallied up only 11 votes behind the eventual winner!!! He probably would have won this most coveted of Australian sports awards, had he been able to continue that year.

Who knows where his career would have taken him since he was already killin' 'em at 21??

  1. i dont know

  2. If he had not been King hit during that match he possibly could have won just about every award there is available in football but after he recovered from that incident, it was quick to see he would never be the same player he once was .
