  1. Mickey Mantle supposedly.  But most of those old reports are exaggerated bull$hit.  There was no accurate way to measure those home runs.  They measured from where the ball STOPPED ROLLING.  Read this baseball-almanac article if you want more believable estimates.

Anybody who watched Josh Hamilton in the Home Run Derby, do you honestly believe anybody could hit a home run 100 feet longer than even his longest one?

  2. Supposedly Mickey Mantle hit the ball 583 feet (I think that's what it was) but it's never been proven.

EDIT: Woops, according to the below answer, 643.  I don't know why I thought it was 583.

  3. All Of These Are Incorrect. Mickey Mantle Supposidly Hit The Ball 656 Ft At Yankee Stadium In 1964 Against The Dodgers. It Hit The Top Of Yankee Stadium, Ricocheted Off Of The Lights, And Came Down.

Mantle hit what one historian estimated at 643 ft, and another that was measured at 656 ft. Although both of these were measured to where the ball was found, not where it actually landed. But that home run led to the coining of the phrase "tape measure homerun." Distances will always be in debate, but I would put my money on Mantle as having hit the farthest HR ever.

  4. Mickey Mantle (September 10, 1960) mythically hit "the longest home run ever" at an estimated distance of 643 feet although this was measured after the ball stopped rolling

  5. "The longest measured home run in a major league game is 193 m (634 ft) by Mickey Mantle (USA) for the New York Yankees against the Detroit Tigers at Briggs Stadium, Detroit, Michigan, USA, on September 10, 1960."

  6. mickey mantle
