I switched to McCain because of her membership in "Feminists for Life", an organization with members that openly support outlawing all "non-abortifacient contraception" (anything that stops implantation of the fertilized egg). http://www.marketwatch.com/news/story/ffl-member-nominated-vice-president/story.aspx?guid=%7B6CD9FE8E-59F7-4A53-8804-3F953FB36211%7D&dist=hppr

But now I found out she is Catholic. Their bible has a different 10 commandments and different books in it.

  1. You are misinformed and unrepentantly ignorant of your misinformation.

BTW, how do you feel about the Quran?

  2. Wow! Are you scrutinizing minutia just to avoid major issues?

  3. She's not Catholic.

  4. Dude...........shut off the computer and go back to your cave.  Nobody wants to hear your drivel.

  5. Sworn in?  That ain't gonna happen.

  6. The catholic bible has the original 10 appocrapha....an edict from the councel in trent

It was changed when the "king james (version)" came out. to follow the new tradition or the after math of the revolt of martin luther

So in reality the catholic bible is the original

  7. Well........ to be honest, I think she's a nondenominational Protestant, though as a baby she was baptised Catholic.

But then again, I don't care.

  8. If subtleties amongst the Christian religions is your deciding factor, you should probably know that Biden is Catholic.

  9. Anything is better than being sworn in with your hand on the Qu'Ran

  10. You are  a moron.  Why would you choose a leader based on religion? No small wonder this country is going to h**l in a handbasket.

  11. Where is the evidence that proves she is Catholic?

Every thing that I have have read says that she is Protestant.

  12. Well at least the Catholic one wasn't rewritten dozens of times by people who thought they would re-invent it to suit their own purposes.

My guess it's the EVANGELISTIC ONE....surely she will be converting....dont even DARE compare it to the Catholic bible!!!

    A DIFFERENT TEN COMMANDMENTS?

I would be SO INTERESTED in knowing what the PROTESTANT TEN COMMANDMENTS are.

Can you post or email them to me??

Who would have thunk that God gave Moses a back up set??

  13. whatever Bible they use, it is still the Bible

  14. She will never be sworn in so it's irrelevant. Most Americans are not as riduculously ignorant as Evangelicals. Sorry.

Ever heard of a little thing called seperation of church and state?

    Support Science.

  15. I don't vote for political leaders based on religion; but I respect that it may (or may not) be one of your criteria. Good luck on whoever you choose to support.

**cough, cough** Obama supporter **cough, cough**

I do, however, think you are clever.

  16. OK...

I would **guess** that the swearing-in ceremony is done with a King James Version bible as a matter of course - simply because those were the most common **traditionally.**  On the other hand, if she requests a certain version, she will probably be permitted that (assuming they get an appropriately austere edition.  One of those bibles with bright pictures on the cover probably wouldn't fly...)

It should be noted that Catholic Bibles do **not** have a different 10 commandments (Decalogue) than do "Protestant" Bibles.  Rather, the Roman Catholic Church, like the Jews, divide the Decalogue into 10 divisions differently from what is normally accepted by the Protestants.

Indeed, they are not differentiated by "Catholic" and "Protestant" at all, as you can see at the link above.

Also, as you can see from this original printing table of contents of the King James Version, Roman Catholic Bibles do not *necessarily* include more scriptures than "Protestant" bibles.  Indeed, like the original KJV, Anglican Bibles (undeniably a Protestant sect and probably the most numerous Protestant sect) normally contain three scriptures **more** than do Roman Catholic Bibles.
