Which British TV show is the best?Doctor Who,Life on Mars,Hustle,Hotel Babylon or Little Britain?

I’ve only seen two of those shows you listed… Doctor Who and Life on Mars, and the only reason I ever watched Life on Mars was because the lead actor was also in Doctor Who. So if I were to list those two shows in order of “goodness” I have to say, 1. Doctor Who, and 2. Life on Mars. Now I must point out, you forgot a British show that is far better then Life on Mars. Robin Hood. Now that is a good show. There are 2 other British shows as well that are spin-offs of Doctor Who, Torchwood and The Sarah Jane Adventures, you can’t forget them! So, listing the British shows, that I have seen, in order of goodness, it’s:

1. Doctor Who

2. Robin Hood

3. The Sarah Jane Adventures

and 4… 4 is a toss up between Life on Mars and Torchwood.

Hotel Babylon <-- Sooooo funny

Hustle <-- love anything about confidence tricksters/magic/psychology etc

Life on Mars <--Can't get enough of the Gene Genie

I love all of those shows apart from Little Britain.

1. Doctor Who (a British institution and cultural icon - none of the others are anywhere near that status)

2. "Life on Mars" (a great detective cop show with a time travel twist - amongst the best dramas on British television in the past few years along with Doctor Who, Torchwood and Jekyll)

3. "Hustle" (another great drama series, very cleverly done with some complicated twists and turns)

4. Little Britain (excellent  comedy, although somewhat overrated in some quarters, i.e. it's great stuff, but not the best ever as some seem to think).

5. Hotel Babylon (watched it a couple of times - didn't like it. It struck me as mindless pap with actors just going through the motions with little enthusiasm for their roles).
