  1. You should get a basic CCNA (Test 640-802) before attempting any of the other three areas of CCNA.

These other areas are all different tests, and some require CCNA before you can take them.

    - VOIP (Test 640-460)

    - Security (Test 640-553)

    - Design (Test 640-863)

    - Wireless (Test 640-721)

Personally, I would not bother with other "Associate" level exams.  Go for the CCNP, there is much more money in that cert, and you'll have to work just as hard to pass it as you would the five CCNA exams.

@Geek IT Guy: the link you provided shows that there ARE 5 "Associate" level tests, just as I posted already.  Basic CCNA can be obtained with 640-802, and there's no disagreement here.  However, you're wrong that no other Associate level exams exist.

  2. I agree with the above guy about not worrying about the different ccna exams. I disagree with going straight for the ccnp.  If you have an interest in specializing, you can make way more money, like the ccvp for voice or the ccsp for securty.

  3. I think you are thinking CCIE not CCNA.  There is one CCNA test (can be taken in two parts):
