Which CFL player suffered long-term memory loss?

I THINK it was Leif Pettersen who suffered this - He had an accident, and

though functional, forgot his entire football career, and could not remember things that had happened to him more than a day or so before. There was even a CTV movie about him...But, Lief P. became a sports commentator! So did he really suffer from this kind of amnesia? Did he get better?

  1. It was Terry Evanshen. The movie was called "The Man Who Lost Himself". One of my favourite movies ever.

    What happened is in 1988 he was in a car accident. His injuries were so bad everyone, including doctors, expected him to die. When he woke up from his Coma he had no memory of his life. He is a motivational speaker now. I don't think he ever regained his memory though.
