Which Camcorder?

I have a Panisonic PV-GS83. It just broke, however I have a warranty on it. Now I need to know whether to buy another one. Or a Canon Optura 50. Some of the features of the Optrura 50 sound like something I would use, the mic jack, manual focus ring, I read it has better video quality.

If you still have the warranty on the GS83, does that not just get it repaired?
