Which Came First??? Bratz or My Scene Dolls?

okay.. i know about the Bratz sueing My Scene, but what im wondering is which one came first????

Which came first was one of the main issues of the lawsuit, which is still being fought. Mattel recently settled their lawsuit with Carter Bryant. He is the former Mattel designer who went to work for MGA. There was no clear cut winner in the Mattel/Bryant lawsuit, although the court did rule that Mattel did have certain rights to some of his designs. There was no clear cut winner in that case. I think the Mattel vs MGA lawsuit is going to drag on for a long time, especially as the president of MGA is apparently not willing to disclose just exactly how much income the Bratz generate for his company.

I think Bratz hit the stores first, mainly because MGA made them cheaply & quickly. The quality of the Bratz dolls & clothing was very shoddy in the first year or two of their production. MGA was racing the clock to get their dolls out to the market before the My Scene dolls hit.

The quality of the My Scene dolls was much better than the Bratz, primarily because Mattel is a larger company & has the resources to make a higher quality product. Over the years, the quality of the Bratz has improved, but sales of Bratz dolls & other merchandise have dwindled, but so have sales of nearly every other doll line out there.

My niece loved the My Scene dolls from the first time she saw them. She liked some of the clothes that the Bratz had, but she didn't like the fact that the Bratz dolls don't have feet. My Scene dolls have regular Barbie feet & she wanted dolls that could go into the swimming pool or bathtub & not look like their feet had been amputated.

Bratz dolls came first!  They were so popular when they came out I believe Barbie got jealous and needed a new look! ( My Scene)  Come on!  Have you seen the new  Bratz line of babies they come with pets that are so copies of Littlest pet shop!    I think Bratz should sue My Scene because My Scene dolls actually have feet that stay on.  And Littlest Pet Shop should sue Brats for turning  cute small animals into Gothic  creatures!

The Bratz Dolls were the first. They appeared in 2001, while The My Scene Dolls (copies of the Bratz) appeared a year later in 2002.
