i am looking for a small digital camera. costing around £100 - £150. i go camping with explorer scouts often so i need a fairly small camera with a low shutter lag to get those action shots. the pictures will mainly appear on facebook and just on a computer so resolution isn't my most important thing. thanks for any advice.

  1. Try the Canon PowerShot A720IS or the A590IS. Both very solid cameras for the price. Shutter lag is very short, and focus speed excellent. Also they take AA batteries so you're never far away from getting replacements. I'd recommend rechargeable batteries though.

  2. The all time winner bargain compact digital camera is the Canon 7.1 megapixel PowerShot SD1000 [not the IS] 7.1 with an added 2- gig memory card which when set in the manual mode for "Vivid" colors and videos at 30 fps in 320 dpi format provides killer images and videos under low light conditions. It currently sells for $160 at Sears:

    Good luck!
