  1. orland park has great schools! close to shopping, metra stations near by, and low crime. Great place to raise a family. Good luck finding the right home!

  2. Wow, what an open-ended question!  How much can you afford?  How important is nightlife/restaurants/shopping?  Do you want public transportation?  Easy access to the highway?  Quick commute to the city?  There's a world of difference between Plainfield and Lake Forest....you really need to be more specific.

  3. i would start w where do you work.  I live in Brookfield, the commute out to Plainfield from here is bad, 35 min on a good day, 85 mph in the Mustang....I couldnt imagine making a commute to work from evanston or some north suburb to go home to plainfield

generally speaking, Plainfield Dist 204 (naperville) schools are great.

  4. Plainfield is ok, but growing so fast that the schools, roads, etc. are having a hard time keeping up. The new construction is constant, schools tend to be very crowded with new, inexperienced teachers, or no teacher at all as my friend found out last year when her daughter started first grade.

  5. Plainfield is a good area but I would avoid Hanover Park.  The Plainfield area has grown in the past few years so traffic is congested at times.

It really depends on what you are looking for in an area.  The schools in the far west suburbs are good (Kaneland, Yorkville) and the areas are growing.  They currently don't have all of the business that other areas have but will in the next couple of years.  The upside is the crime rates are very low and the areas still have the small town feel and friendliness.

  6. Plainfield is great. It is next to Naperville which was currentley voted #3 in the country by money magazine to live and raise kids. I live in Warrenville which is on the opposite side of Naperville and it is also a nice community. The schools are very good around here.Goodluck

  7. Anywhere on the north to northwest side.  Do not go south or south east.  Big difference!  I lived in Chicago for 28 years.
