Which seed varieties are used most in Thai cookery? I live in the UK and have a unheated greenhouse. I have grown several varieties if chilli in the past like Tom Long, Apache and Hot Wax but supermarket chillis are just labelled as Thai - no variety named. Do you know what they may be?

  1. Thai Sun or Thai Dragon.  I think Thai Dragon and Thai Hot are the same pepper.  That's the one that I have and the peppers are HOT!

  2. if you like your chilli hot then the small red ones, if you like it mild the larger ones, it depends on you alone

  3. If you can find seed for "small bird chilli" that would be a perfect variety for you to use for Thai cooking..

  4. Thai Hot

Ornamental compact little bush about 90 cm high, so can be grown on a windowsill. Lots of 2cm upright very hot chillis ripening to red, good in oriental dishes.
