Which Coffee is better for you?

Question

Instant coffee or freshly ground coffee beans either plunged or made through a machine? Does instant coffee have more preservatives etc etc?

Definatly freshly ground beans, if you can source organic beans thats the way to go.

Like all things use in moderation, as in say 2 cups per day

The best tasting coffee with naturally low amounts of caffeine are mountain grown arabicas, recently blended and roasted to your preferred taste. As they say "Fressh is Best".  So freshly ground is best, fresher and tastier, full body coffee, but watch you don't have too much caffine can get to you.  Also you can get addicted to coffee just like other things. Not too good for the nerves system and it will increase blood pressure.  Stick to one cup a day or two maximum.  Remember fresh coffee is also stronger. Enjoy!

There was a study done a couple years back stating that the plunged coffee method may increase levels of cholesterol.  I drink a lot of coffee and will always have freshly ground whole bean coffee.  Either an Espresso machine or a plunger/press is quite delicious but there continue to be more innovations in the coffee world that keep brewing methods interesting!  I would choose an organic whole bean coffee and grind it fresh for each cup you intend to drink.  Choose a Swiss Water Processed coffee if you choose a decaf, and listen to your body if your in doubt about health, based upon what you put in it and always enjoy it!

Freshly ground beans in general.  Keep away from coffees with chemicals in them which includes most instants and de-cafs.

Most people here seem to miss the fact that coffee can in fact also be healthy as it has good antioxidants just like tea. Freshly ground coffee beans are a lot better as the processing of instant coffee used by many major instant coffee companies kills the antioxidants in the beans.

Also just because you bought freshly ground, doesn't mean they don't have any chemicals in them. Organic coffee is the only way you can ensure there are no chemicals used.

Besides, espresso coffee tastes a lot nicer than instant ;]

Freshly ground Coffee bean are better, but I wouldn;t say better for you. Coffee isn't really good for you but one cup a day doesn't hurt. So yes, the pure Coffee Bean is better than instant.
