  2. Assuming you'll be paying off your monthly balance in full (i.e. basically just funneling normal spending through it to earn rewards), then there are some pretty good rewards cards for college students.

Examples include the Citi mtvU card, Citi Driver's Edge for College Students, and the Discover Open Road for Students card.  You can use this rewards calculator to see which student rewards card will pay you the most in rewards for your normal spending:

  3. Citi has a whole bunch of cards out there.  They are also a very secure bank and all their do not carry a tearly fee like some others do.  You can actually get point on some of these cards for maitaining a good gpa.  check out http://creditcardwarehouseonline.com and click on the student cards sections.  You can view the details on the cards and the perks before you even apply.

  4. you can apply for this credit card, http://www.idbaru.com/creditcard . its made for people like you who have no credit history or bad credit. i wouldn't be able to tell you the kind of limit you would be able to get but its guaranteed to be at least 1500 i think. i was able to get a 2500 dollar credit line myself with my horrrrrible credit.

  5. My advice seems like the least likely choice for you but I would recommend b/c you are a college student but hear me out:

I recommend a secured credit card. Use 300 from your student refund check and go to a FDIC bank and get a visa or mastercard. Why?

Because when you get out of college, you will not be in credit card debt and you will be better off than many of your colluges who applied for a credit card b/c they wanted a free sandwich from subway. Think towards your future and not the present. Afterall, If you have a secured credit card, you will not swipe that card for some mundane reason.

  6. I'm honestly not sure. But I do recomend shopping around.

Don't accept card-x just because they offer a higher amount than card-y. That higher amount just might have a higher interest rate too.

So, my word of advice, focus on interest rates and fees more than amount of money on the card. Even a difference of as little as 4 or 5% can really impact your wallet. So say one card offers you $1,000 limit w/an interest rate of 18%, but another company offers $500 with a rate of 12%... take the $500! you'll save a lot of money.
