  1. Go with the D60.  It's newer, and has more of the D80 features at a lower price.  It is also more compatible with lenses.

The D40X is just an upgraded D40.  The D60 is more of a stripped down D80.

BTW: Canon is a toy, Nikon is a camera.

  2. The D40x is old technology while the D60 is newer technology. What"s better? That all depends on what your needs are. Do you just want a camera to take good pictures or do you want a camera that takes good pictures but has  advanced features.

  3. Between those I'd probably go with the D60. It has some exposure processing adapted from the D300 that the D40's are missing, and since they are both missing the AF motor I'd get the 60.

And jus coz me and m said that..... Canon blows.

  4. The Nikon D40x or D40 is superior to the D60 since the auto color picture taking default is set to the Kodak color standard or "Vivid."  This "Vivid" setting ensures full color image saturation.   Should you decide on the purchasing a D60, make sure to set the default to "Vivid," since no such default is available at the outset.

    Good luck!

  5. Just coz you said that -

    Canon XT

    Canon XTi

    Canon Xsi

    Canon 10D

    Canon 20D

    Canon 30D

    Canon 40 D, etc...

Just admit it, Canon is better than Nikon. Even Nikon-ers admit that much.
