Which DVD Recorder can I use to record movies etc. from my Directv DVR?

I have 5 months free of premium channels and I want to record some movies onto DVD. It is not Hd, just regular. I checked BestBuy.com and every DVD recorder available has conflicting customer reviews. If anyone has a Directv DVR and records DVDs, please please help me out. There is only so much room on a DVR and I also use it to record TV series while my husband is deployed.

  1. Hi Corey,

The one I like is available at Walmart. You can find them cheaper but the Panasonic DMREZ27K is very full featured, up-converts and gets rave reviews. It is the one I would recommend.

Go here to see it, read about it and see the reviews on it - http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.d...

  2. I have an LG that works just fine.  I also have directv.

I cannot record PPV movies due to copyright protection, but I have no problems with the starz, hbo...etc

My LG can record on Dual Layer, which means you can put more movies on a single disk (if that's an issue), or record at super-high quality.

They don't make my LG anymore, but I'm sure the new ones use similar guts.
