Desaru is not known for great diving. There are two hotels that I know of that offer a very elementary intro to scuba resort course.

One is Plana Luna...and I can't remember the other one!

Actually almost all the Desaru hotels and resorts have seen better days, and Desaru is not known as a scuba diving haunt. Therefore lessons are unlikely to be available. I'd advise you to head to Mersing and dive off Tioman.
