Which English lakes are you allowed to canoe on?

join the British Canoe Union this will give you a licence for some of the UK's waterways!.

You don't have right to paddle any where in England and Wales.  This because in 1066 William the conqueror diced up the country lakes river un-all to his knights and land owners.

the lake district is full of lakes you can go to also if you like surf kayaking you can do that at most shores

You are allowed to canoe an all the English lakes as well as one or two reservoirs but you may need a licence,the local councils will be able to help you there.
