Which FTA Satellite receivers will receive HD programming? Do they have to say HD in their item description?

Since television will go to HD next year, I'd like to get a new FTA Receiver, but only a few have the HD stated in their item description. Will others receive HD programming, if so, does anyone know which ones? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

  1. Hey JC ........

Most of us diehard True FTA enthusiasts are waiting for an all in one HD receiver that decodes 4:2:2, for those who couldn't wait  Pansat has a 9200 HD receiver that will do some of the HD content currently available.

The only consumer unit that does 4:2:2 is the Quali Tv receiver from Europe but it has no Blindscan so you will have to input everything manually.

Your other option is using your PC and that seems to be the most popular method.

    Note:

In the hacking community , an additional device is being used with current HD receivers to decode encrypted signals.

You might wonder what is currently available True FTA HD , not a whole lot unless you like Sports , there is a PBS HD that runs 24hrs a day and HD sports feeds that come and go daily and especially on weekends.
