Which Fish Couple/ Trio should I use?

My brother's female guppy is aggressive. I tried breeding them together and she just bit off his tail. It's growing back niceley, though. I don't want to try them agan.

She has offspring. She recently had fry (she was apparrently pregnant when my bro got her) but only three survived. All female. They're probably about two months old, but they still look like babies. They're small. Can I use them? Is there a way to make the older 'momma' fish less aggressive? I know, she had to have bred before to have the fry, right? how do I get her like that again?

Also, my mom is against going to the pet store with me, I don't know why. I could walk there, but they don't let you buy fish if you're under sixteen or somthing. It's really dumb. I don't have many more options. Unless my dad takes me, I probably won't be able to get another female any time soon. Sadly, I'm an impatient person, as school is starting in a week. I'd like to get this done beforehand.
