Which Florida College Is Better?

Question

USF or FAU?

Don't worry I'm not basing my decisions on what anyone on here says, I am going to make my own decision, but I just want some peoples opinions.

I currently have a 3.9 GPA, but haven't taken the SAT yet. I'm nervous that I won't score high enough to get into either.

Does anyone know what your SAT score has to be to get into either of these colleges?

Any help would be much appreciated :)

It depends...both are pretty much strong in the same areas: engineering and business. USF has a decent Fine Arts program too.  If you're going into engineering or anything tech related I'd tell you to go to FAU, cause they pretty much are the best in the state when it comes to that. For business, they're about the same, but I'd suggest USF, and for Fine Arts USF.

With grades like yours you should consider more prestigious institutions...no offense to FAU and USF students (I go to USF, and applied to FAU too), but you should consider  Florida State University, and  University of Florida.  FSU is better known for their pre-law program, and related majors, since it's in the capital, and UF is more known for it's dentistry program and veterinary program. But really just getting accepted to them is considered a major accomplishment.

Another school that is *like* USF and FAU, is UCF, which is pretty much the same as USF.  

Those three are all pretty new, and are just establishing a good name  for themselves.

USF is much better but am a little biased because both my parents went there.You should get into both since you are a Florida resident. USF is a great school and has gotten better. My mom graduated in 92 or 93. It also has a great education program. and my mom became a teacher. The dorms are bad as my mom described. She thought they were gross, but it was my dad's dorm. She was a transfer, and lived with a friend at an apartment and shared half. I would live with someone you didn't know because you don't need to loose your friendship over this. FAU is still good but I think USF is better. Flagler College is really great and cheap for a private school. It use to be a old hotel, and has the best campus I have ever seen. It's in St. Augustine. In the end it's up to you, and think you'll make the right choice. Good Luck!
