Past or present, what would you ask them?

I was going to do a Valencia F1 quiz but can't remember anything of the last race there :p

  1. John Surtees.

I love to ask him after all these years how nobody has managed to do what he did, win bike world titles and them move to F1 and win the '64 World F1 Title.

A truly great man, clearly with to much talent!

I know 1964 is long time back, but you did say past or present !

  2. Michael Schumacher, my childhood hero.

    And I would ask him.

'How does it feel before lights go out?'

  3. Present: Lewis Hamilton, Heikki Kovalainen and even though im a big mclaren fan id like to meet the 2 ferrari drivers

Past: I'd like to meet Jackie Stewart or Micheal Schumacher

  4. Niki Lauda.

I think I would have much to ask. About his career, about his accident, about his victories and about life after formula 1.

  5. A very excellent question ! :) I just came across again the book 'The life of Senna' by Tom Rubython at my library the second time. Somehow or rather after I read the back of the book I was fascinated by this man. I did hear his name before at one of the YA answer and back then I had absolutely no idea who he was. His pictures on the front and back of the book drawn me most. I MUST read about him :) its a thick book of about 590 pages. I too notice another pictorial book written by Damon Hill himself, 'F1 through the eyes of Damon Hill'. I really enjoy reading as he speak in his own words. I really get to know F1 a lot from his sharing.I felt very sad as he wrote this book in 1998 and wouldn't really know exactly what life has installed for him. For me, getting to love F1 is not just about the car, its about the men themselves that fascinated me. Of all, I am most inspired by Hamilton as he work his way up to where he is now although it is controversial that he is blessed to race in Mclaren. Somehow I felt Ron wouldn't have pay much attention to him all these years if this boy didn't have the potential (since he told him he wanted to race for Maclaren at age 8). I hope Hamilton will continue to inspire others to pursue their dream and that his success in this sport will not make him proud and arrogant, if such, no matter how talented he was, I would not be inspire by him. :)

p/s : by reading the sharing from others bit by bit i get to know F1 better by subsequent reading. tks guys!

  6. michael schumacher and kimi raikkonen !!

    Love them so much !!

  7. Lewis Hamilton. I would probably be speachless!

  8. michael sumacher of course now he's retired but heck i'd like to see him

  9. Alan Prost

  10. John Surtees or Jackie Stewart

  11. Ive never met any driver at all but would love to meet

Michael Schumacher simply because ive grown up with the guy dominaiting and im part italian as well so Ferrari winning by crushing everyone was great hehe so thank him for that

and id ask him what he thought when he first met Senna and how he felt when he equalled his record of wins and poles and how he felt when he retired after winning Monza 2006 =)

though its obvious to say him the other one thats obvious but would have been great is Senna and would ask him about his perception of life in general and how racing always made him feel and how he felt about being the national hero of Brazil and how his side kick in effect Senninha made him happy and his family and the press and Adrianne and his true thoughts on Prost and Dennis lol

  12. Hi Julian G

I actually did (sort of) meet my all time hero once, but never spoke or asked him anything. It's been one of my many regrets, as now I'll never get the chance.

Ayrton Senna lived not far from me when I was a teenager and he was racing for Rushen Green racing. Dennis Rushens brother Johnny was an acquaintance of mine. Oh....missed opportunities.

When Senna died I lost all interest in F1

  13. Steven Spielberg? Oh wait, is that even right?...

  14. Ha good Q Julian, very droll!

Michael Schumacher- What did you and Damon Hill remonstrate about at the 1995 Italian GP when he took you out?  (i really want to know that one!)

Nigel Mansell- How did it feel being runner up/loser THAT many times?

Ayrton Senna- What possessed you when you went out at a minute before the end of qualifying to blitz everyone's time by acres??

(I know he's not a driver, Ron Dennis- Senna  or Prost who is your fave?! heehee!!)

  15. Bourdais or Alonso, only because they have very hot wives.

  16. Barrichello. he just seems like he doesn't mind kickin' it once in a while. I used to race as him in F1 for Playstation when the console first came out. I've never seen bad press about him and the industry has nothing but respect for him( not counting the disrespect by Ferrari at the A1 Ring).

  17. Anthony Davidson

  18. Mario Andretti.

He seems so chill. Did you ever see "Dust to Glory"?

He drove the h**l out of that show truck and it was his first time in one.

  19. Johhny Herbert. I lost all interest in F1 after he retired.

Oops - Question! I would ask him who nobbled his car on every race. Someone clearly did!

  20. Of the current crop Massa. I'd ask what help he gets from Michael Schumachers advice.

As to the past the biggest thrill I've had was meeting J P Jarier to me the best never to have won an F1 race. Didn't ask a question and just told him what I thought.

  21. Jacques Villeneuve.

I would like to know how he experienced his career, which had an opposite way of a normal one. Became World Champion in his rookie year and then performed worse and worse. I think it would be very interesting.

  22. Mine would be michael schumacher and I would ask him how he stays so cool during a race while being tailgated by either mika hakkinen or Alonso

Number 2 choice would be Kimi Raikkonnen and I'd like to ask why he has a sock in his mouth when he speaks. LOL

  23. It would have to be Mikka Hakkinon.

I would like to ask him if he thought he retired to soon and also ask him which drivers spired him and ask him who he rates as the top five drivers of all time.

And then I'd insist he took me for a drive

  24. Fernando Alonso! Ever since I've seen him race, I've tried so many times to meet him, but I've always failed! Will I ever meet him? Probably not, but who knows! ;)

In terms of what I would ask him......I have no idea! :S

  25. none actually.....no one could be as informative....rather i have hardly any questions to ask.....what would i ask???....no one f us actually....even to the press guys they dont asnswer d truth....and u think ur more talented than the journos tht u will get the right answer???!!!!!!!!!!.....rather i would personally ask for friendship..so tht aftr they retire they would recommend their seat to me 2 der team boss maybe....!!!!!!..........ya i knw... m very mean....!!!!  ;-)

  26. None at the moment. But I'd like to meet Kimi and interview him. At the same time shake him really hard to ask him to wake up and fight for the championship.

  27. Well, I hav met Johnny Herbert, David Coulthard n saw Jenson Button.

    But it has to be.........................................

    SAINT LEWIS OF HAMILTON!

I'd like 2 ask him does he actually like fernando coz he says he does, but does he put it on?

  28. Damon Hill...He was my hero growing up, and I'd just ask him about when he was young and having all these famous drivers at his dad's house, and then his own racing career... especially his time at Williams...

Schuey would be a good one as well.... just because he's so personable and friendly..
