  1. neither, get this:

    http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/...

probably 2 times as good, will run crysis no problem and all that if thats what you are going to do. 8600 is not a very good card.

tigerdirect is a reliable company as long as you have the ability to buy online

  2. Go with the Best Buy Card.

The reason I say this is because even though it has less ram tham the other the ram it does have is alot faster than the other card has.

Also PNY has been manufacturing computer parts for many years

and has a good rep for producing a quality product.

  3. Hmmm. Tough choice. On the one hand, if you buy the ddr3, you can upgrade later and add another ddr3 card to increase your ram (SLI). With the ddr2 card you can upgrade as well, and would have twice the ram even though it was slower than ddr3. So the nagging question here is, is 1gig or ddr3 faster than 2gig of ddr2? I can't answer that one for you. Not off the top of my head. You could ask PNY or EVGA on their website. Both card manus are at the top of their game. If you don't have the time, you can use a gambling formula, that says that a lot of the time the newer technology is the better investment, for re-sale value and replacement availability. That works correctly a lot of the time, but not always. I think you would do okay with either one. If you have to roll your dice go with the ddr3. If your budget is really crunched go with the ddr2. No matter what I think you are going to be okay.

  4. Then GDDR3 version performs far better than the GDDR2 version. The GDDR2 version is good for 3D rendering and other applications that need lots of memory that does not have to be fast. This site sells the far better 9600GT for the same price and has a very, very good reputation.
