Question:

Which Giacomo's restaurant is better?

I'm visiting Boston for the first time this month and am coming all the way from Melbourne, Australia. A colleague of mine recommended Giacomo's for excellent Italian food and all the reviews I've read online of it have been exceptional. I noticed that there are two locations, one on Hanover (North End) and on Columbus (South End). Is one better than the other or are they about the same? Love great quality Italian food and pizza, any other suggestions as well for the other days I'm in Boston?

Thanks so much!

  1. neither! both are major tourist traps.

try massimino in the north end.

  2. Hi..

I lived in the North End for 17 years, I know pretty much all of the restaurants around and only a few I would recommend.

Jackie owns both of these locations..

The food is excellent.  You can't go wrong.

    Also to go

    Pagluica's on Parmenter Street

Neptune on Salem Street....they have the best oysters and seafood.

Strega on Hanover Street......Come join the Family!!!

Also try to go the oldest Restaurant in New England

The Union Oyster House...  great seafood, eat at the bar.

    Near Fanuiel Hall

    Enjoy!
