  1. The 9500 GT GDDR3 is essentially a reworking and optimization of the popular 8600 GTS GPU on a smaller process. Even though the clock speeds are lower than those of its 8600 GTS brethren, the 9500 GT GDDR3 performs a bit faster in the limited benchmarks we’ve seen, and the card has been found in stock for as low as $70 online. The extra $30 is well worth stepping up to a Radeon 3850, but if you want the absolute cheapest gaming card and don’t plan to go higher than the 1280x1024 resolution, the 9500 GT is a good option. Just be sure to get the faster GDDR3 version, not the slower DDR2-equipped cards.

  2. the latter coz its higher up in the series(9 as opposed to 8)...you can can also go for 8800 gt

  3. they are about the same, but there was a rumor that all 8 series cards are defective and will die, if not at first, then later on. i would go for the 9500 by evga. i love evga, they are a great brand

  4. They are about the same. The higher generation number (8 vs 9) means it has newer technology but the higher range number (600 vs 500) means it is more powerful in terms of clock speed, etc. mssrk24 obviously has no idea what he's talking about. For example, a geforce 8800 would be way better (About 12x better) than a geforce 9600

  5. You really didn't provide me with enough information to find a better graphics card, your lacking needed Video Out port, do you have AGP or PCI Express x16, etc.

But, between the 2, the EVGA GeForce 9500 GT.

The retail price is $90 according to their website. If you found a sale, Go ahead and grab it.

some of those are the same ones you have with nice rebates.

    # 3 is slightly, very slightly better than the 8600.

runs cooler, and takes less power.

although, i have no idea if it'll be compatible with your motherboard though, you should definitely check that out.

EDIT: I am by no means an expert.

i'm actually trying to find the same thing.

although, i went with a slightly higher price range after i couldn't figure anything out.

    :]

the guy above me has no idea what he's talking about though, 9 series or 8 series doesn't matter, really.

the 8800 GT is a whoooole lot faster than the 9500, like the guy above him has said.

hope i helped in the slightest.
