XFX GeForce 8500 GT 450M 1GB DDR2, DVI, PCIE Graphic Card

or

XFX GeForce 8600 GT 1 GB DDR2 PCI-Express Graphics Card?

I noticed the 8600 has a better clock speed, and is a little more expensive than the 8500. But i've been hearing that 8500's arent very good. The specs on my system are:

Intel P4 3.0ghz

1GB DDR2 RaM, 2 more GB (corsair) DDR2 i ordered

ATI Radeon X300 or X550 (not sure)

PSU is either 300W or 350W

  1. The XFX Geforce 8600 GT is the better graphic card by far. I recommend you use that one!!! Plus it would work well with your machine

  2. The 8600 is better of course.

  3. I have an 8500 GT and while it's not all that bad, you shouldn't get it. The 8600 GT is twice as powerful and I hear XFX makes high quality graphics cards. I'd normally advise someone to get a 9600 GT but you can't install that because of your PSU. You can, however, install the XFX 8600 GT x*x which is overclocked and probably the best card compatible with 300W PSUs.
