Question:

Which HD camera would you suggest that I get?

I'm an Independent filmmaker who is looking for a new worthy camera to purchase. I want to be able to edit the footage on the camera on my computer with ease, this factor is very important. The camera must have very good audio intake (When the microphones are properly placed, off course). Also, it has to be HD with really good outcome and again, the footage should be easily transferable into my computer for post production.

I'm on a tight budget (close to $1000). I would be very thankful if someone decides to share his/her wisdom with me. Thanks.

  1. That's Not A Good Budget For HD....

But, That's What You Have To Work With...

for that, you can't get a 'great' high-def camcorder, however you could get a 'good' one that looks like a normal mini dv camcorder, you can't expect anything ABC looking lol.

you could get a camera like this, it's around 800$, it comes with a good zoom lens, and goes with mini dv tapes. In order to put the on the computer ( as with all mini dv camcorders ) you're goingto need a firewire cable, which sell for close to nothing. It also has a CMOS sensor, which is as professional standard in cameras, both digital and mini dv. It's a great camera. Save a bit more, and you could get a better camera.
