  1. because HDMI signals are digital, the signal is either there, or it isnt, my advice is go for the cheapest one you can because you will get exactly the same quality from a cheap one

  2. As long as you buy your cable from a reputable company, you don't have to buy a $100 cable.

Only unusually long cables call for special design and high cost.

See the links below for reasonably priced , quality cables.

  3. inspiretech sell some goods one for arond 5 bucks.

  4. All HDMI cables are virtually the same.

So, try to buy an inexpensive one. If it says HDMI, it's an HDMI cable.

  5. There is a difference in cables, but if you are running under 10 ft and NOT burying it in a wall, the inexpensive cables from Monoprice work great.

For longer runs or going in-wall, a name-brand cable or one of the good cables from BlueJeans is recommended.

I use both. 4 inexpensive HDMI cables from MonoPrice  ($12 ea) feeding an HDMI switch. Then the long run to the TV is a thick, heavy cable from BlueJeans ($38)

(BlueJeans is a place I have recommended for years for analog cables. The website has lots of honest technical information and the owner has a good return policy and has many happy customers.)

  6. I picked up the Rocketfish brand at BestBuy so if I didn't like it, I had no problems in case of returns.

Needless to say, no returns were necessary.
