okay, so im saving up money for a new tv for my bedroom. Im either gonna get a lcd or a plasma. the 2 models i have narrowed it down to are the VIZIO VP322 plasma, and the WESTINGHOUSE SK-32H590D lcd, which includes a built-in-dvd player. I've read all the specs for both of them and basically the Vizio has better specifications than the Westinghouse does. I'll be basically watching tv, movies, and playing SOME ps2 games on it, and maybe connecting my laptop up to it. I have seen the Vizio plasma in person at a local store, and it looked fabulous. I have seen a Westinghouse lcd tv before, but not the one i listed above. The thing that really matters most is how good the picture quality is. Im really going towards buying the vizio over the westinghouse, but im not positive. i just need some opinions and hopefully it will help me. P.S...please dont say that these tv's suck becuase i know that there are better tv's out there, its just that i have a budget of around $600.00

  1. vizio

  2. VIZIO hands down. Plus i never was a huge fan of those built in DVD players. Everything is going to bluray anyway so i wouldnt worry about that.

  3. Let me break it down for you...

The Best LCD Brands: (in decending order) Sony, Samsung,Sharp,Toshiba,LG,Philips,Mitsubi...

    Panasonic, Hitachi

Sony and Samsung are the best by FAR!

LCD Brands to avoid: Westinghouse, Vizio, Magnavox, Olevia, Insignia

Those brands are cheap for a reason.....

    *Less than ideal picture quality

    *Sub-par Customer service

    * Extremely hard to get parts for (your screwed if you need to repair it)

    I'd tell you, RECONSIDER!

  4. Your budget is a little low for a 32 inch HDTV.  Vizio's are garbage, stay away! I owned a Westinghouse for two months and it turned into the black screen of death. Don't buy Westing house.  For $600 you should really just wait, if you can, one year.  The newest technology is changing in 32 inch to 60 inch tv's. There are also some factors to help you decide on HDTV's.  The contrast ratio is very important!

I looked and Best Buy has the Insignia 32 inch TV from this year the 2008 model.  Insignia is a Best Buy product so you cant find it anywhere else.  I bought one shortly after my Westinghouse died and it worked great!  Loved it, but then it was stolen. Insiginas are made with LG products in them, LG is known for quality in their LCD HDTV's.  If i were you I'd go look at the new Insignia.  And the great news is its in your price range and its your best bet over the Vizio (c**p) and Westinghouse (more c**p).
