I have a factory h/u(FM/cassette only) in my car and I'm planning to have an after market h/u installed. My car has 10 factory installed speakers, 1 tweeter, 1 midrange, 1 midbass on each of the front doors, 1 tweeter on each of the rear doors, 2 speakers at the back. I had one Alpine M350 mono amp installed in the trunk with a JBL subwoofer.

My dealer said that there is also a factory installed preamp/crossover system in the boot where all the factory speakers are connected to.

I'm looking at getting either an Alpine IVA-D310E or a Kenwood KVT-532DVD. The Alpine is more expensive by atleast $225..

  1. I'm a Alpine fan so I'm going with it. But if the Kenwood is cheaper and you like it's your choice. Good luck.

  2. with the setup already there having amps and crossovers dont be a fool and go for $$$ over quality.

the headunit at the end of the day only creats a sound its the speakers and amps that do all the work and make it sound good.

i have a £20 headunit in my car and its competition level.

the speakers are what make it so save the $225 and get the other one and spend that extra cash on upgrading the speaker cables to goldplated air sealed ones.
