  1. Hello, I am living in Cologne, and I suggest go to Brussels. Cologne is not really Germany's most beautiful city, it's very grey (cos destroyed).

It indeed has just the cathedral.

Brussels is nicer to walk around, make sure to get a waffle!!!

  2. Cologne does not have ONLY the cathedral. It has the rhinewalk, it has the chocolate museum (I suggest you to go there!!! ;o))

And a lot more. I can not compare it to Brussels, cuz I've never been in Brussels. All I can say is, that Cologne is worthy to go and see it!!!

  3. I highly recommend Cologne (Koln as the Germans spell it).  Brussels has lots to see but is very exspensive and found them not to be very friendly towards english speaking tourist, much like Paris.

  4. Cologne, you have to see the cathedral and the shopping is great, and so is the night life. Brussels is boring.

  5. cologne only has the big catherdral and some art galleries, brussels is more colorful and lots more to see and do

  6. Well - it depends of course of your taste. If you are into old churches, into shopping and into nightlife - go for cologne, it beats brussels in these topics. But if you just want to walk around the city, sit in cafés and visit very diverse sights (especially art noveau architecture), then brussels is your city.

I - as a german - prefer brussels to walk around and have a drink - and the grand marketplace is one of the most beautiful places of the world. But the nightlife isn't as exciting and diverse as the one in cologne - and of course the cologne cathedral is a must-see also. But the whole inner city is rather ugly, but filled with stores of every kind.

    It's up to you.
