  1. I am very demanding of the internet latency and dl/ul speeds, I have tried Tiscali Virgin BT and SKY best so far is very close between Tiscali and Sky sky winning due to being cheaper, but at all costs AVOID BT most expensive and Very slow.

  2. Virgin media, although I don't really like to admit that

    Why?

Because they use fibre optic cable for their broadband, this means pristine connection and quality. The fact is, what broadband connection you pay for, is what you get. Unlike these "up to 2meg", "up to 8meg" deals because they use a inferior quality connections.

  3. It generally makes no difference, aside from the differences in connections: Dial-up, cable broadband, phone broadband, mobile networks, and satellite broadband will all give you different speeds.

    I'm with Plusnet, they're a good ISP:

(Oh, and a lot of people claim Virgin Media are better because they use fibre optics. So do all the other ISPs. It depends whether BT have installed fibre optics in your area for their "21st Century Network" or not. In my case they're doing that right now.)

  4. I would definitely say virgin media for two reasons. One reason is that they provide a very reliable service, with speeds of up to 20 meg. the second and most important reason is that it doesn't matter how far you are from the exchange because it uses fibre optic cable, which is like travelling the speed of light.

  5. o2 broadband...an depends where u live

  6. BT

  7. I have been with BT for 3 months now and I have had no problems with reliability of thier service. Thier new BT home hub 2.0 is nice and sleek too, and came with a free handset on option 3.

  8. Virgin media i think offer the fastest and we've never had any trouble with it at all, but that may depend on the region you live in

  9. I think it is limited to how close you are to the exchange, although I'm only 1/4 mile away and my speed is still only 5.5mb. Check with Be broadband and see. They're pretty fast!
