  1. Hi Vampz

If you already have the fingering to play violin, I would definitely go for guitar because you have developed the dexterity and to replace the bow with a guitar pick should not be an issue for you.

Take a look at Yngwie Malmsteem. He was a violin player and went to guitar and became famous for his arpeggios. He got influenced by the classical flavour of violin and transposed it to guitar.

  2. My personal favorite is guitar. If you ever played a piano, or any kind of string instrument, it's generally easy to pick up on guitar. Plus, there are so many different playing styles, its endless. It doesn't matter what you're into, you can play it on guitar.

  3. I agree with the above guy. The guitar is an incredibly versatile instrument.  But I personally recommend learning piano and then learning guitar.  Even if you know some theory now, the piano makes it so much easier to develop theory, than a guitar.  With a guitar, the notes are literally all over the place. With a piano, you can see everything laid out simply in front of you. I actually wish I had learned piano first.  I'd be a much better guitar player if I had.  Guitar may be a more natural transition from violin, but I actually recommend learning piano.
