I am moving to Dublin very soon, and I would have to find an eye specialist there because I have uveitis in my eyes, so that I have to see an ophthalmologist from time to time(averagely once a month). I have no idea about the level of hospitals in Ireland, so I need some help here to find a good one for me. Thanks very much in advance!

BTW, may I get in touch with an ophthalmologist directly without a GP's reference, because GP just couldn't help in my case.

  1. Your best bet is to contact the Eye and Ear Royal Victoria Hospital at Adelaide Road, Dublin 2. Phone ++353 1 6644600. As the name suggests, they specialise in those kind of things. Good luck.

  2. The Mater is the main one.

You have to be referred by a GP and chances are they will refer you to the Mater.

You can just tell them to refer you. You can also be referred to the Mater private if you prefer.
