Which Iron Maiden guitarist is your favorite?

Dave Murray, Adrian Smith, or Janick Gers? I've always favored Adrian Smith myself.

I've liked murray because he's the only founding member other than Harris. All three guitarists seem techinically identical, and almost stylistically identical too. Smith seems a bit more bluesy and laid back, while Murray seems to be a bit more neo-classical and virtuostic, while Gers seems to solo in a random manner, but without sounding like jazz. Gers is my second favorite just because the songs that Smith writes are a lot closer to hair metal, while Gers is more progressive.

Not that any of this matters. I've heard that Harris writes a lot of guitar parts. I'm sure even dickinson contributes some, possibly even McBrain. Iron Maiden has had a lot of lineups, but the fact that the guitar parts haven't changed dramatically tells me that either Harris or Murray (probably Harris) has a lot of influence over the songs.

i'd say adrian smith too because he was there when maiden made some of there best albums i.e. the number of the beast, powerslave, seventh son of a seventh son, etc. plus he also helped write wasted years, 2 minutes to midnight, and can i play with madness.
