Question:

Which Is a Better Look?

I've just been thinking about engagement rings (and jewelry in general lately). I was wondering what has more of a "wow" factor. A .50-.75, 3 stone diamond engagement ring or a .50-.75 solitaire engagement ring.

I will admit; I love the sparkle factor. So, which would have more of a "wow" factor.

  1. The solitaire would stand out more.  If you get a 3 stone with a total weight of .50-.75 carats, they will all look small and almost the same size, almost like an anniversary band.

Go with the solitaire, it would look much better (except keep in mind that a single stone of that weight would cost more, as well).

    Congratulations! =)

  2. Go for the big solitare......you can get a wedding band with small diamonds that will add to the sparkle.

  3. I would go try some one and see which looks better on your hand. I always thought a 3-stone princess cut would be great for me but when I tried it on it looked horrible on my tiny hand! If you go and try on different styles you'll see what you like best on your hand and what gives off the most "wow"!

Personally I would go with a solitaire, it seems everyone does the 3-stone these days!

    Good luck ( =

  4. The solitaire! The one big stone is much more impressive than multiple little stones in my opinion.

  5. I agree with everyone a solitaire would look amazing, three stones with this size carat would not look so impressive.

I have a 1.25 carat princess cut solitaire on a platinum band and I am so proud to wear this, it was my fiances choice and I was gobsmacked with it.

Go for a solitaire and sparkle !!

  6. Here is one stone http://www.jamesallen.com/engagement-rin...

and here you can find the 3-stone http://www.jamesallen.com/engagement-rin...

each ring has a movie so you can compare.

  7. I would go for the single stone.  If you want some more sparkle, get a setting with diamond accents.  That's what I have...I have a .75 carat stone, and my setting has a bunch of little diamonds all over it and the setting weighs .63 carats.

You can get a setting with a large carat weight because the smaller the stones are cut, the less expensice they get.

That is why a 3 stone ring weighing 1 carat total weight will cost much less than a 1 carat solitare.

A lot also depends on the diamond quality.

My bf was thinking of getting me a 1 carat but went with the .75 because the quality and sparkle of the .75 was better.

  8. i like the single stone setting as well. i got my wife a .69 karat diamond that has a big "table". it is flatter and doesn't sit as high as a regular cut diamond but this makes the stone look alot larger than it really is. ask your jeweler if he/she has one cut that way.
