Question:

Which Jesus are you following?

There are many representations of Jesus, the apostles said that if you don't do as they preached you follow "another Jesus" (2 Cor. 11:3-4). Those that followed theirs got immersed in water and received the Holy Spirit, evidenced by speaking in tongues and believed the same thing.

Many today "preach Jesus" but those things don't result, other things instead.

  1. The Original Jesus.  "Love your enemies."  It turned my life around.

I speak in a brand new tongue, one that everyone can understand, one that doesn't speak of hatred or violence, but Love and Peace, which begins with me.

  2. That same author(Paul) also said that not all Christians speak in tongues.

  3. the one with big bills

  4. None of them.

  5. The jesus that died on the cross for the worlds dirty sins,

that jesus and theres only one jesus.

and by another jesus they mean the anti-christ.

  6. I used to follow Jesus Gonzales when he did my lawn but that's the extent of it.

  7. In Corinthians (I'm not sure 1 or 2) it says that "tongues will cease". I do not believe that people today are able to speak in the tongues like the first followers of Jesus were. Yes, they all were immersed in water.

I guess the question for everybody is What did the apostles believe? That is what all the debate is in Protestantism/Catholicism.

  8. There is only one Jesus, the one who was tortured and crucified on the cross. I think the story got embellished a few hundred years after this amazing man was laid to rest.

  9. I follow the one and only true Jesus that died for me, so that I may have eternal life.

  10. First I don't "preach Jesus" but rather the message that he left for us about the good news of the kingdom.  Second what the apostles meant was that they would be people transforming themselves as ministers of God but teaching false doctrines.  The reason why is found in verse 14 of the same chapter you mentioned above.

  11. The one mentioned in the bible. Who's judging? How or what you think about the quality of some one else's faith really is none of your business. How much grace and mercy was in your mind when you asked this question?????

  12. the jesus who sacrificed his life for me

  13. Most Christians follow the one and only Jesus, not a representation of him.

Paul was simply saying that if someone else comes along and says they are Jesus, you would know they weren't the true Jesus if you really knew Jesus, but if you didn't, you could be easily be swayed to follow someone else.

The same is true to this day. If you don't read the Bible and know the Lord, you can be easily swayed to follow false teachings.

  14. I love and serve Jesus of Nazareth, the True, Risen Savior. He paid my debt for crimes I committed and loved me for ever. I entrusted my self, spirit, soul and body to Him. The righteous shall live by faith. I accepted what Jesus did for me and I allow Him to make the changes in me that will get me ready to live in God's Kingdom forever. Paul, the Apostle said, "all do not speak in tongues do they?" I have experienced the baptism in the Holy Spirit and speaking in tongues. But Jesus said the will know us by the love we have for each other. He doesn't want us to be divided over certain gifts and abilities. He wants us to love each other in sacrificial service. Jesus washed the disciples feet - He didn't interrogate them about their spiritual gifts and He said that we are not greater than Him, so we need to be humble and "wash each others feet" spiritually if not physically.

  15. I follow the Jesus that took my sins upon Himself to set me free from the bondage of sin and to give me eternal life.  The tongues speaking was a result of the baptism of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost and has nothing to do with salvation.

  16. You already are good enough to get into heaven. You don't have to be anything but a good person, because entrance to heaven is a free gift when do your best to be a good person, to not tell lies or be manipulative, to hold to the spirit of the law, not the letter.

The ONLY WAY to believe in yourself is by learning to stand on your own two feet and start figuring some things out for yourself.  Learn from the lesson of Jesus, who disdained the legalism of the Pharisees and wanted us to live lives free from the corrosive and coercive minds of shallow people.

Please pray this now, as Jesus taught us: "Our Father, who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy name.  Thy Kingdom Come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.  And lead us not into temptation. Amen”

  17. first. many believe that ALL the 120 in the upper room (acts 1:15) spoke in tongues. a closer look revels that it was the apostles ONLY who spoke in that manner (acts 2:7;14). second. many believe that the language spoken was unknown as paul referenced in his first letter to the corinthians (chapter 14) this is not so. because the word UNKNOWN is not PRESENT at all in acts 2. the ppl that herd the apostles speak, understood what they were saying acts 2:8;11 the word HEAR is a sister word for UNDERSTAND. PLEASE study for in doing so you dig deeper into the word of GOD. unlike reading only, one only scratches the surface, or only possess the tip of the ice burg. and always pray asking GOD for understanding, wisdom and guidance pray before and after study. and know this that study makes one more responsible. so count the cost before you take that leap. however, the payoff is GREAT!!! 2nd. Timothy 2:15 Y'all be blessed.

  18. The hot one who mows my lawn.  WOOF!

  19. The one who died for me on the cross. He's the only one who exists.

  20. I once followed one Jesus at my local supermarket. He was helping me find napkins.

  21. The black/arab jesus who was just a very enlightened man, not a 'god'

I have no doubt that Jesus actually existed historically  and was a very enlightened teacher, but so was Buddha, Ghandi, the present Dalai Lama. Jesus was rebelling against orgaised religion based on guilt with stupid rules, but 2000 years later his word has become the very thing he opposed.

    If you Christains

    a) knew more about the science of evolution and the universe, and

    b) Knew more about the origins of your own Bible - how it was put together by people with an agenda, why certain parts were included and what was said in the parts that were left out e.g. The gospel of Thomas and the gospel of Mary Magdelen just to name a few, you would see that it can only ever be taken symbollicly.

And if you did this, maybe you wouldn't look like such idiots.

  22. well thank you for ans. yoiur own question.

  23. Jesus of the New Testament

  24. I follow the one that ACTUALLY died for me.

  25. I don't get the question.  There really is only one Jesus.  Some people see him in different ways.  My dad treated me like a princess, but he was physically abusive to my brother.  I remember him as being kind and loving, and my brother remembers him as mean and belittling.  But he's the same guy!   There is only one Jesus.  The one from the bible that atoned for our sins.

  26. Not everyone speaks in tongues.  You speak of Pentecost and perhaps a few other times.  There is no mention that the Ethiopian eunuch spoke in tongues.  I think Paul addresses this nicely when he says love is more important.  I know whom I follow and my trust is secure as is my place.

  27. I follow the only Jesus.  My goal is to live according to his command that we should love God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength, and to love our neighbor as ourselves.

  28. The "other Jesus" is Lucifer.

  29. acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

    the same Jesus you are.
