Core2Duo is better than AMD Turion, but they're both good. AMD Turion is better than pentium dual cores, celerons, pentium m, core (not core2), etc etc...

You did not specify graphics device, screen size, wireless, and other details, but all those laptops fill your request.

  7. you could also go to manufactures web sites and look in the refurbished section

  8. What operating system are you looking for? for Ubuntu, try System 76 or Dell. For Windows try Dell and HP, and for Mac, go to Apple.

  9. Look at Acer, HP, maybe even Gateway,

  10. Most computers these days around $600-$800 don't have those specified requirements. If you're looking around that price frame, you'd be looking at around 512Mb-2GB RAM, with a 100GB-200GB Hard Drive.

Also, you'll need to pick a processor, probably the most important parts if you need to find a computer.

The closest laptop I've found to you specifications, is actually a Toshiba.

    has some good options ^^

  12. PLEASE, my husband and I both have HP laptops.... spare yourself the frustration and DO NOT buy an HP or Compaq.  They're notorious for problems.  They may be appealing, but just run away from them.

  13. toshiba or hp or sony maybe
