  1. I like SUSE and PCLinux2007 but just about all of them will run.

  2. ubuntu  xubuntu or kubuntu  (  al variations on ubuntu )

    linux mint  (  ubuntu with drivers and codecs)

    and all  linux  versions are free  to download
