Question:

Which London restaurants might serve 'kebab'?

I've recently read about 'kebabs', a new European dish. Have any of the top-end restaurants latched on to this delicacy?

Apparently, 'Doner' is the most succulent and I'm very much looking forward to my next visit to Claridge's, where I might try one. Can anyone reccomend a particular wine to compliment it?

  1. kebabs sir kebabs whatever next  best kebab old bean is  in hackney mare st  best wine no sir you must drink what the locals drink lager sir  stella lager its french your lordship an aquired taste but do watch out for the local muggers  your lordship

  2. Oh yes fine chap!

I would also reccomend drinking a 'Tonic wine' that's what all the seasoned Kebab diners drink with their kebab!

  3. I don,t think you will find a proper restaurant serving kebabs, however , if you do come across one the best thing to drink with it is a cheeky little tipple called Andrews Liver Salts.Cheers old bean ,pip pip.

  4. Don't  know   where you have been all these years but,its been popular with the masses for years after a night out with lads and having drunk a few  to many ales .

Because of the high fat content they either soak up the drink or else make you sick ..

You buy your kebab and take your pick

  5. well seeing as though kebabs are as much English culture as champagne, Hollywood movies, and lasagna

(ie, they aren't really English; but we'll claim we're being friendly by assimilating them into our culture, whereas really they entered the culture because there wasn't one)

..................YES they all do, and the proprietors will tell you they are part of British culture

  6. The etiquette for eating  kebabs is most important to gain the whole experience and is generally as follows.

Kebabs are only allowed to be eaten after 1am on a Friday or Saturday night.

They must be consumed outside from a polystyrene box using a plastic fork while sitting on a pavement and holding a half empty pint glass filled with "lager" which you have stolen from a nearby drinking establishment by hiding under your jacket.

It is preferable to have a drunken girl draped over your shoulders as you eat, who occasionally awakes from her drunken stupor to steal a chip.

For unknown reasons kebab consumption is directly related to aggression levels, so if you should feel the urge to punch a passer by on the mouth for no apparant reason while eating your kebab, just go with it. If they should punch you back all the better - blood in the mouth will improve the flavour.

    Happy dining!
