  1. For flowers, the Sigma. For bugs, the Sony.


  2. Only the Sony 50mm is a true macro. IMO the word "macro" should be changed to "close focusing" when applied to a zoom lens.

    I'd suggest either the Tamron 90mm macro or a Minolta Maxxum AF 100mm macro. I've used a 50mm and 100mm macro and long ago sold the 50mm. I like the working distance from bees and other insects that a 100mm gives me.

  3. The Sony one is a true macro. The Sigma one can focus closely, but not like the Sony's.
