I am considering the National Guard--by the way I live in Kansas.I am going to join the reserve, but havent decided whether im joining Army,Marines,Navy, or national guard--I'm trying to stay away from Air force because they are downsizing which makes more difficult to rank.

I am a senior this year, and haven't taken ROTC throughout high school,Also anyone that knows a decent amount of info about the military some advice on which branch and what to do would be helpful thanks!!<<<<also in college im going to major in something to do with businesss-so what job(s) does that translate to in the military?

No answers plz on your going to die or go to war or whatever, i already know that risk.

  1. Well for one they give you the amount they say they will if you'll read your agreements. Do you ever plan on going active duty? Air Force is not out of the question for you yes they are down sizing but that doesn't effect new recruits. Their rankings is based on normal time up to E-4 I think then it goes mostly on testing and how well your doing and you can speed it up yourself. Don't count out the Air Force they have a lot to offer. All of them are good and you'll get the same thing from all of them.

  2. Usually the either the Army Guard or Air Guard will provide you with more benefits because they have the support of the state. I was in the Air Guard and got a ton of money from the state plus my GI Bill.

  3. They all pay the same.

All the branches have the same benefits.

  4. Thank you for serving our country, it's a great thing your planning on doing. If your doing it for the college money I only I would reconsider. The money isn't all they promise you will get. We don't take good enough care of our soldiers. I really respect you b/c I couldn't figtht for people like Nancy Pelosi who call the troops n***s and murders. She's lower than the slime on t he floor of a brothel.

  5. They all pay the same amount. By going Reserve, you will wait a long time before you can claim benefits.
