los angeles clippers will be the most threatening because now they have a solid defensive big man who can block shots and also shoot the 15-18 foot jumper really nicely , they have a solid point guard in baron davis who can handle and distribute the ball very wall and can be handy on the defensive end with a couple of steals here and there and can also put up 15 pts or more on any given night . they have also aquired ricky davis who can shoot the three ball well and has alot of basketball experince having played with the heat in there 06championship year ,  another player added to the roster who can be a solid back up point guard is jason williams who has proved to be a good point guard in many times with the heat in 06 .last great pick up for the clippers is eric gorden selected 7th in the pick and good mesh realy nice next to davis at the shooting guard positon

No doubt the Los Angeles Lakers. Not only did they make it all the way to the finals last year but they did it all without Andrew Bynum. With the addition of Andrew Bynum they should be the most dominant team in the league.

There are a couple but the ones that come to mind are...

houston rockets - with ron artest in the mix, they should be much improved and one of the top title contenders. if artest plays like he should then watch out for the rockets.

milwakee bucks - i know they are not a real threat but they are much improved from last season. they have richard jefferson which is an all star type player to complement redd. bogut is growing talent and they have a defensive minded coach in skiles. milwakee can surprise some teams.

Philadelphia 76ers - since they added elton brand downlow, i think they have become one of the top teams in the east. if they manage to resign iguadala then they can be very good.

LA clippers - they might not be lock for the playoffs but look out for the clippers. they have an allstar point guard in baron davis. an excellent defender in marcus camby and solid back up veterans in jason williams and ricky davis. clippers could grab one of the last few playoff spots

Blazers...41-41 team as one of the YOUNGEST teams ever and they are adding a future HOF (in my opinion) in Oden, a great scoring pg in Bayless, and a Euro star in Rudy Fernandez.

Most improved: The Miami Heat.. it wont be hard for them to improve from last seasons record.. plus with a fit Wade.. inclusion of Beasely, and Marion chipping in, they should be much better

Most threatening: The Houston Rockets.. They did great last season without Yao.. And did great in the trades to get Artest.. A fit Yao helping out Tmac would already be a threat, but with Artest in the lineup, supported by Scola n Alston.. they look like a serious contender
