  1. Patriots losing the super bowl to the Giants

  2. 2007 Patriots

    1990-1993 Bills :'(

    1984 Dolphins

    1968 Colts

    All-Time Vikings

    All-Time Lions

  3. The biggest choke goes to the Houston Oilers in the playoffs i dont recall the year but i remember them playing Buffalo and they were up by some rediculous amount like 35 points at the half or something only to lose to the Bills. That was a bad bad game.

  4. It has to be the Patriots last year.  18-1, and the "one" is the Super Bowl?  Come On!!

  5. Buffalo Bills

  6. NFC: Philadelphia Eagles, they lost three NFC Championships in a row at home and then they win the fourth and then lose the Super Bowl.

    AFC: Buffalo Bills

    Boy

    I

    Love

    Losing

    Super Bowls

  7. Buffalo Bills of the 1990s. You would think they could win at least one Super Bowl out of the four consecutive ones they went through!

  8. The Packers since they won that last Superbowl! Favre just couldn't help but throw all those interceptions and s***w their seasons!!!

  9. How about the Pats losing to the Giants?

  10. 2001 Rams losing to the Patriots. I was cheering like am imbecile, watching the ultra smug Martz's greatest show on turn reduced to a pack of tired 12 year olds whipped on the playground by a younger faster more aggressive defense, man that was sweet

  11. How about the Patriots losing their perfect season

  12. The Packers - from about 1972 through about 1992.

Oh, and the Packers against the Eagles in the playoffs in about 2003 - they gave up a 27 and a half yard pass play for a first down when it was 4th and 27 to go - and the Packers could have advanced to the NFC Championship game.

I can understand listing the Bills - but don't forget that Frank Reich caused the Houston Oilers to be an even bigger choker - when he took them back from about 35 down to win the AFC Championship game and get back to a Super Bowl (where, of course, they lost - but Houston choked big time on that one).

Oh, and NORWOOD!!!! NORWOOD!!!! was a pretty good choke too.

  13. Or how bout Superbowl 3 when an NFL team lost to an AFL team. The Jets upset the Baltimore Colts, Biggest Upset/Choke.

  14. how about the 2008 patriots they got beat by big blue when they were like 20 point underdogs

greatest upset of all time = biggest choke of all time

also i think the 2000 vikings getting beat 41-0 at home by my giants when they were heavely favored was pretty bad too

  15. yeah.. I'm gonna have to agree with the first answer.. Buffalo Bills for sure.

  16. I would have to go with that Oilers/Titans team that blew that huge lead with Warren Moon to the Buffalo Bills and their 2nd string QB.

Of course I might have to list the Cowboys last year losing to the Giants...

  17. I say last year's Patriots how you gonna win 18 games and loose the biggest one! Well, they're more like Cheaters, and they don't prosper. THe 01 Rams got cheated.

I say the 02 Raiders, Rich Gannon of his MVP season only to lose to the Bucs, that was a choke and I'm a Raiders fan.

  18. The Bills losing 4 Super Bowls in a row

  19. 1998 Vikings were 15-1

    Highest scoring offense ever.

Smoked New Orleans in the Divisional round.

Then Denny Green took a knee in the 2nd quarter with like 1 minute left and a chance to add points.

The rest is history, painful history.

  20. It's gotta be the Bills in 1990 when they lost the superbowl because their kicker, Scott Norwood went wide right. Great game!

  21. 2007 Patroits losing to The Giants

how u gonna go undefeated and lost the super bowl

  22. vikes to falcons. the purple people eaters had no excuse to lose to the falcons. i actually think it was the pats this year. come on, leagues best offense and then a measley 14 against NY? please.

  23. them cheating pats

  24. For a single season it's tough to go against the 2007 New England Patriots.

And for an era the Bills of the early-90s stand alone although the Vikings of the 70s could give them a good run.

Fwiw, it probably doesn't address the question of "biggest choke" but this season NFL Films will take a look at five teams that had very good seasons but, for whatever reason, failed to win it all. Only franchises that have never won a Super Bowl were eligible to be considereded, thus the 2007 New England Patriots could not be featured.

The series follows the one they did a couple of years ago with all the Super Bowl champions but this one is called "America's Game: The Missing Rings".

NFL Films chose these teams to feature:

    1969 Minnesota Vikings

    1981 San Diego Chargers

    1988 Cincinnati Bengals

    1990 Buffalo Bills

    1998 Minnesota Vikings

The series will premier on the NFL Network on September 18 at 10 pm eastern.
