buy a good book on the subject Australia is a huge country you will need to know where to go before you arrive,,there are thousands of nat parks and they range from boring to spectacular, tip might be that unless you have a lot of time or a lot of money or both then you should stick to one area,,east coast or west coast ect. like I said it is very big

Litchfield Nr Darwin is very beautiful, safe, and relatively easy to access.  You can have a good look around within a couple of days.  Kakadu is immense and even if you fly over it you will not see that much.  Nitmiluk (north of Katherine) is again good for a full days hike. Katherine Gorge also very good.  Cape Range National Park and Ningaloo Reef also well worth a visit.  There are many others - by the way - don't go to Uluru (worlds most expensive tourist rip off) Uluru is a monocline - at Burringurrah in Western Australia the monocline is a billion years older and twice as big with far more aboriginal art to view. All are worth visiting, but some would take a lifetime to visit (2 are over 1 million acres)

All of them! [there are hundreds].  You must understand, Australia's a big land with a wide variety of landscapes and climates.  You need to specify which states you are most likely to visit, as there are huge distances to be travelled between them, and no doubt your time and budget are not unlimited.

As it was said before, Australia is a huge country. And every region has wonderful National Parks that are worth a visit.

My favorites in South Australia are definitely Belair NP in the Adelaide Hills and Flinders Ranges NP.

Belair NP is a small park, but it is the second oldest NP in the world, after Yellowstone Park in the US. There's always a chance to see koalas in the park, and bird life is abundant. It is only a short drive from Adelaide.

Flinders Ranges NP in SA is awesome. The Flinders Ranges are an ancient, rugged mountain range on the edge of the Australian Outback. Bushwalking, wildflowers in spring, wildlife and Aboriginal culture are waiting to be explored.
